Elk Lake is an all sports lake with a hard-pack sand bottom and lots of room for kids. We have docks and deep-water moorings for boats of all sizes. Cruise to Elk Rapids, an adorable harbor town right on Lake Michigan, for dinner, shopping, and spectacular sunsets, or spend the day playing in the water right here on Elk Lake; explore the Chain 'O Lakes and even Torch Lake all from your boat.
Park your car for the entire stay or day-trip to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Traverse City shopping and night life, multiple local golf courses, gambling casino or Mackinaw City just to name a few. Hidden specialty markets and cute fruit stands abound! Pick up your favorites or pick-your-own fruit farms are all close by, and don't forget to check out the Grass River Natural Area for family fun and activities.

At Waters Edge Resort
There is a paddleboat, two docks and four mooring buoys for your watercraft. A cement boat ramp is right next door. A swing set and slide are located next to the swimming beach. Volleyball, tennis, and basketball courts, soccer and baseball fields, along with a playground are a short walk away. Enjoy swimming, fishing, and boating on the Elk Lake Chain of Lakes. Pontoon boat, jet ski, and ski boat rental available on the lake. Hiking, biking, golfing, shopping, charter fishing, hunting, skiing, snowmobiling, or fine dining (by boat or car) are only a few miles away. The Post Office, Milton Township Park (soccer, tennis, baseball, basketball) and the Oasis Red Bull Tavern are within walking distance (1-2 blocks).
Waters Edge Market across the street offers gas, a wide selection of food including take-out pizza, sandwiches and ice cream; and beverages including water, soda, beer, wine, and package liquor.
